How do I locate a book or film at McKee Library?

Answer

Search the Library's Catalog

McKee Library's collection of books and films can be searched via the library catalog. To search the catalog, visit the library's website (southern.edu/library) and enter your search terms in the search box, as seen below.

Call Numbers

McKee Library is organized using the Library of Congress system. Each book and film is assigned a unique call number that is located on the book or film's spine and front cover. This call number is the address of the item and lets you know where it is physically located in the library. Materials are grouped together by subject area, making it easier for you to locate materials on similar subjects.

The PDF linked below explains how to use a call number to locate a print book on the library shelf. Additional, we invite you to view the video series on how to search McKee Library's catalog for more information.
