How do I find a citation in a library database?

Answer

Most databases offer a variety of citation styles for their materials. When searching for a citation, look for options like 'Citation', 'Cite', or 'Send to'. It's crucial to remember that these citations are computer-generated and should always be verified for accuracy. Here are the steps to locate the citation in our most popular databases.

EBSCO Database:

  1. Select the three-dot icon to the right of the item's title.
  2. Select Cite
  3. Scroll till you find your chosen style and copy and paste it into your document.

Gale Databases:

  1. Select the title of the item.
  2. Click "Cite" in the toolbar on the top right-hand side of the screen.
  3. Select the citation type from the header.
  4. Press "Select," then copy the citation.
  5. Paste to your document.

If you need further assistance in locating the citation in a database, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with a research coach. For specific help with APA, MLA, or Chicago Style, please schedule an appointment with a Writing Center tutor.
