How do I locate articles for my research?

Answer

Research Guides

A great place to start looking for articles is a research guide. You can view the guide for your discipline at https://southern.libguides.com (linked below). Using the guides, you can select the most appropriate database for your assignment.

Library Databases

A library database is a collection of articles and other resources which is searchable online.  All of McKee Library's databases can be accessed by name via the A-Z database list, linked below.  You can refine the list of available databases using the dropdown menu, as seen below.

Search the Catalog

You can search for articles using the library's catalog. For specific directions on how to search for articles in the library's catalog, please visit https://southern.libanswers.com/faq/385858 (linked below).

Browse Journals by Discipline/Topic

If you want to browse articles for your discipline, we recommend BrowZine. BrowZine consolidates thousands of peer-reviewed journals from hundreds of publishers and delivers them to your mobile device or computer. Rather than search databases for specific journal issues, BrowZine creates an experience similar to browsing a newsstand and reading a print journal.

Research Coaching

A research coach will work with you one-on-one to answer you research related questions. Appointments are available virtually. You can request an appointment here: https://southern.libcal.com/appointments/
